Laughing Jack Greenock Shiraz 1999 - Basket Pressed

This is the inaugural release of Laughing Jack Shiraz, a collaboration of the Kalleske and Schroeter families.

The Kalleske's have been farming this property since 1855. This unique vineyard is situated near the hamlet of Greenock, a small town in the famous Barossa Valley and home to some of the Australia's greatest Shiraz wines.


Appearance: Bright crimson.

Aroma: Pepper, spice and ripe plums fill the nose with accents of mint and eucalyptus framed by sweet cedary oak.

Palate: Beautifully structured with good depth and concentration of flavour and lingering fine grain tannins.

Acid: 6.3

Alcohol: 13.1%

Maturation: 90% American Oak Hogshead (25% new) and 10% French Oak for 16 months.
Cellar Potential: 10-15 years with careful cellaring.
